The music project started with a reunion of the Portuguese and French participants who had also been in Leipzig. So there were already a few familiar faces to talk to and exchange ideas with. On the first day, we then got started with the music. After the getting-to-know-you round, we split into two groups and started jamming. Things picked up pretty quickly because three people from our group of six were already in a band together and make music together quite often. Finding my way into that was difficult at first, but it worked out pretty well in the end.

In general, the atmosphere was good, and since we were not the only music project, there was also some entertainment in between. The evening performances were a bit chaotic, though. Lunch and dinner were served in the school cafeteria, and since the other participants were eating there as well, the whole thing felt more like a large music academy compared to the small group in Leipzig. It was a good environment for making music, especially because there were so many musicians around.

We would also have liked to have access to the Centro Cultural (and the instruments) during the breaks, so that we could practice a bit or make music outside the planned activities. However, the rooms were locked, and in the evenings things always finished quite early.

All in all, it was a good experience, and I particularly liked the setting because we were staying together with so many other musicians.
